PHREE PHLOYD!
To the shock of all who might read this, the French hate us. They’ve hated American bike riders since Greg LeMond arrived. They announced a Tour without Lance would be a breath of fresh air... then Phonak’s Phloyd won. He was angry about stage 16. That means testosterone. He whipped them all in stage 17 and beat the air with his fist in a display of testosterone. Three problems for the French immediately present themselves: 1) He’s American, 2) The French have no frame of reference for understanding what testosterone is, 3) He didn’t give the usual French salute - both hands in the air surrendering. Add to that he presents himself as not an arrogant jerk, and the only hope is to attack him as completely alien to their existence and world view.
